Technically, it is plant-based.

Plant Based? Tee™ — Deceptive Issue begins with a familiar phrase and leaves the viewer to decide which definition they were expecting.

At the top, a healthy green plant rises from the soil, its leaves spreading beneath the question “Plant Based?”

Nothing particularly suspicious about that.

Until you look beneath the surface.

Below the roots sits an elaborate industrial plant, complete with metal silos, interconnected pipes, processing equipment, and machinery operating beneath the very thing growing above it.

One plant is growing.

The other is processing.

And both have a perfectly reasonable claim to the name.

That is where the deception takes root.

The artwork does not need to tell a lie. It simply introduces a phrase, allows an assumption to form, and then reveals that the same words can mean something entirely different.

The question mark makes the viewer part of the joke.

Because sometimes the problem is not what someone said.

It is what you thought they meant.

Presented on a classic unisex heavy cotton tee in Black or White, the front artwork combines vivid botanical greens, earthy soil, exposed roots, and industrial detailing in one deliberately misleading composition.

Deceptive Issue enters the EO Rebellution SJ House archive as a study in language, assumptions, and the convenient truths people construct before examining what lies underneath.

The label said plant-based.

It never specified which plant.
